Located on the northwest tip of Vancouver Island, Cape Scott Provincial Park (22,566 hectares in size) contains 64 km of scenic and rugged shoreline including nine wide, white sandy beaches. These beaches are interspersed between rocky promontories and jagged headlands. Wildlife such as Grey Wolves, Black Bears, and Sea Otters make the park their home. Feel the history. Formerly a Danish settlement (beginning in 1897), the park still shows some signs of its past. These hardy settlers finally abandoned the colony in 1917 after enduring the wind, rain, and isolation of the area. Nature Experience Tours offers backpacking tours in Cape Scott as part of the Backpack Vancouver Island Tour or as a custom/unscheduled tour.
