Carmanah Walbran Provincial Park contains old-growth forest of mainly Sitka Spruce (some over 95 m high and 800 years old) and Western Redcedar with an understorey of ferns and wildflowers. 

The park (16,450 hectares in size) consists of the lower sections of the Carmanah Valley and Walbran Valley that drain into the Pacific Ocean on the west coast of Vancouver Island.
